Get Met.
5/7/12:
Let’s see if I still remember how to do this…

Yep. Still got it.
We performed in front of an Egyptian tomb entrance that had been gifted to the United States from Egypt (naturally.) The US then gave it to the Metropolitan Museum. For more information, google “Egyptian tomb entrance at the Metropolitan Museum.”
Also, there was a real harpsichord in our green room. I’d never played one before, and the sound of it made me immediately start recalling several songs that have been made famous by it’s tone. Cool.
So, it’s been a long time, we shouldn’t left you… without a dope beat to step to… 10 pts to whoever gets that reference.
I’ve been putting a lot of writing work in at home. I try to spend every day in a studio, even if it’s my modest home recording setup. It’s going through puberty though, so hopefully it will be a full sized, albeit young manchine soon. (Man + machine = manchine)
If I get greedy I’ll make a video or something to say hello to everybody. In the meantime, I gotta get back to work. Hope everything’s well, talk to you soon.
Hey…
Haven’t posted in a while - been super busy. Just thought I’d stop by and say hey.
Hey. :) I’ll be back soon.
Watch Bruno talk guitar shop and jam with me in between!!
Bruno Mars on Fender Guitars
(by fendermusical)
2/21/12:
You know what’s crazy? I wrote this arrangement. And we’ve done it on TV and stuff. Like, LOTS of people have seen it.
Anyhow, this is really it for a while. I’ve got lots of time on my hands for the next little while. That doesn’t mean that this blog is coming to an end. I’ve got a lot of new things in the fire right now, and I’ll be writing and posting soon. Thanks for reading, and stick around, I’ll be back in a second.
After The Show Is The Afterparty!
2/12/12:
First this:

Now we head to the Warner after party to soundcheck:

Me and E.

Sometimes at soundcheck I pretend I’m Bruno, to see how it feels.

The party and our performance can only be summed up by Ryan’s face in this picture:

Sorry you missed out.
Grammy Slam!
2/12/12:
Here we go.

Sorry, had to nap a little bit first. A Grammy Sunday starts at 7 in the morning, which is still night time for someone like me. What are you gonna do, right Kam?

Okay, NOW we get going.

I can kind of hear Bruce Springsteen performing as we’re standing behind a set piece onstage. Man, we did this whole thing last year and now it’s come back around again. What a year.

We received so many compliments from everybody as we came back to the dressing room. And by everybody I mean EVERYBODY. It’s great to be appreciated by your peers. Especially when your peers are THE BEACH BOYS!!

Good day? Great day… Now, let’s celebrate!!
Grammys Staples
2/10/12:
Soundcheck/Camera Blocking at the Staples Center. You aren’t allowed to take cameras into the arena at this event… but I do. :) I was smart enough to leave the camera offstage, because when you obviously have things you shouldn’t have, they get taken away. Everything I ever needed to know, I learned in Kindergarten…
So many performers and not enough packs to go around - I shared packs with Paul from the Beach Boys!

I know these last two posts have been lacking, but I’ve been rehearsing. We had to make our performance great, and it was. I gave my camera to Dani on Grammy Day so she did a lot better with pictures, and I’ll post those now. Thanks guys, you always understand.
Perfect Practice
2/6-8/12:
Rehearsals for the Grammys!! Getting ready for greatness…

We’ve been playing this song for a while now, so rehearsals weren’t that long.
This is probably the most boring post ever. Apologies.
Speedo Demon
1/28/12:
More time at the pool today because we didn’t play until 1:30 am. Bought a speedo today - When in Florianopolis…
Finally got to watch Florence And The Machine in their entirety today. GREAT set.
Alright, so I started the show off like this…

But I figured since it was the last show, that someone had to step it up a notch. Good thing I still had my speedo on.. RELEASE!

This picture makes it look like a diaper, but I think a better one will probably surface soon.
This concludes our tour of South America. Good times were had, good laughs were shared. Hope you had fun following - and while the tour is over, the story continues…
See you on the internet.
